A candy cart that grew into a candy world

Mint World started with one folding table at a Lubbock farmers market and a simple idea: candy should be an experience, not just a checkout-line impulse buy.

How we started

From one market table to a full storefront

Mint World began in 2013 when our founder started selling hand-scooped bulk candy and homemade mint bark at the West Texas Farmers Market. What sold out fastest wasn't the fanciest item — it was the candy people remembered from childhood, mixed in with a few new flavors they'd never tried.

That mix is still our whole approach. By 2016 we'd opened our first storefront, and today Mint World fills a bright, color-coded shop on Quaker Avenue where the bulk bins, chocolate case, and gift counter all get equal attention.

Milestones

The Mint World timeline

2013 — The market cart

Weekend pop-ups at the farmers market, selling homemade mint bark and bagged bulk candy out of mason jars.

2016 — First storefront

Mint World opens its doors on Quaker Avenue with its first full bulk-bin wall and chocolate case.

2019 — Custom gift boxes launch

After steady requests for birthday and office gifts, we built a dedicated gift-box counter and packing station.

2023 — 10 years of Mint World

A decade in, we expanded the sour candy and retro sections based on what our regulars kept asking for.

What guides us

Our values, in plain sugar

🍯

Real ingredients first

We choose candy made with genuine fruit flavoring and real cocoa over artificial shortcuts whenever we can.

🧑‍🤝‍🧑

Local and personal

We're a neighborhood shop first. Our staff knows regulars by name and remembers what they like.

🌈

Something for everyone

From nut-free bins to sugar-conscious options, we want every visitor to leave with something they love.

Behind the counter

What "small-batch" actually means here

Our chocolate bark, cordials, and seasonal specialty items are made in short production runs, often no more than a few dozen pieces at a time. That keeps quality high and lets us react quickly to what customers are asking for.

  • Chocolate tempered and poured on-site in small runs
  • Bulk bins restocked weekly to stay fresh
  • Allergen information posted at every bin and shelf
  • Seasonal flavors rotated in for holidays year-round
